Dave the Diver
Overview
This quest was added in the Summer Update 2026. Dave from Dave the Diver makes a guest appearance.
Dave can be found on the beach in The Town. Talk to him to start the quest. You’ll need to repair a boat before you can travel to the newly added area, Spicy Rock.
1.Find a Small Boat
Dave is having trouble because he has lost one of his Dave’s flippers. He says he probably lost it somewhere called Spicy Rock. After talking to him, you’ll learn that you’ll need a small boat to get there.
Dave asks you to find a small boat, but luckily, there’s already a Damaged Rowboat nearby that is just the right size. You’ll need to repair it using:
- Farm Plank ×3
- Farm Color ×1
Once the boat is repaired, use it to head to Spicy Rock.
2.Head to Spicy Rock
When you arrive at Spicy Rock, you’ll find a shipwreck carrying spices.
Dave first asks you to catch some fish for his friend’s shop. During the conversation, you’ll learn that the fish here can only be caught using Ocean Spice as bait.
Ocean Spice can be found underwater. It’s easy to spot because it produces noticeable yellow bubbles. However, you’ll need a weight to sink your fishing hook down to the depth where the spice is located. So, your first task is to find something heavy.
3.Find Some Heavy Metal
Hit the Lead Rock found around the island with your Pickaxe. It looks similar to an iron ore deposit. Breaking it will give you Lead, which can be attached to your fishing hook and used as a weight.
4.Catch the Ocean Spice
Just like when obtaining items for the Treasure Hunter, cast your line toward the area where the bubbles are coming from and fish up the Ocean Spice.
Once you’ve obtained the spice, report back to Dave.
5.Catch the Nine Specified Fish
Dave asks you to use the spice as bait to catch three Cinnamon Carp, three Pepperfin, and three Chilli Cod.
The Chilli Cod can sometimes be difficult to catch. If you run out of bait, come back the next day to get more and try again.
There is only one fishing spot, and you can catch all of the required fish there. If you’re lucky, you may also catch Fish Roe, which was added in the same update.
Once you’ve caught all nine fish, talk to Dave again. He’ll then ask you to find his lost flipper.
6.Find the Flipper
A large clam nearby is holding Dave’s flipper in its mouth.
Approach the clam while holding Ocean Spice and give it the spice. The clam will spit out the flipper before falling back into the sea.
You’ll then obtain Dave’s missing flipper. You will also receive one Farm Pearl, a rare item.
7.Complete the Quest
Give the flipper back to Dave to complete the quest.
